This Privacy Policy describes how ResoKit ("we", "our", or "the app") handles information when you use our Android application. ResoKit is an offline music practice utility. We do not operate user accounts and we do not sell personal information.

1. Summary

• Core features work without an internet connection.
• Microphone audio is used only for on-device tuner pitch detection and optional local recording.
• Settings, practice session history, and recordings are stored locally on your device.
• We do not transmit your audio, recordings, or usage data to our servers.
• The app does not include advertising SDKs or third-party analytics SDKs in version 1.0.0.

2. Information We Process

All processing below occurs on your device unless you use Android system backup features described in Section 6.

2.1 Microphone audio

• Tuner: Live audio is analyzed in real time to detect pitch. Audio is not saved unless you use the recorder.
• Recorder: If you choose to record, audio is saved as AAC (.m4a) files in the app's private storage.
• Permission: RECORD_AUDIO is requested at runtime when you open the tuner or recorder.

2.2 App settings and preferences

Stored locally using Android DataStore, for example:

• Theme (light, dark, or system)
• Default instrument and active tuning preset
• Tuner settings (A4 reference, tolerance, smoothing)
• Metronome settings (BPM, time signature, sound, volume, haptic preference)
• Recording quality preference
• Onboarding completion state
• Favorite tuning presets

2.3 Practice session history

When you save a practice timer session, we store locally: start time, duration, optional label, and session type. You can clear session history in Settings.

2.4 Recording library metadata

For each recording, we store locally: file name, display name, creation time, duration, and file size. Audio files remain in private app storage until you delete them or uninstall the app.

3. Device Permissions

ResoKit version 1.0.0 does not declare network, storage (external), camera, location, notification, or advertising ID permissions. The app does not request notification permission in this version.

4. Information We Do Not Collect

• No account registration or login
• No names, email addresses, or phone numbers collected inside the app
• No precise or coarse location
• No contacts, photos, or files outside the app's private storage
• No advertising identifiers
• No in-app analytics or crash reporting SDKs in version 1.0.0
• No cloud sync to ResoKit-operated servers

5. How We Use Information

Information processed by the app is used only to:

• Provide tuner, metronome, tone generator, practice timer, and recorder features
• Remember your preferences and saved sessions on your device
• Play back recordings you create

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making.

6. Storage, Backup, and Retention

• Data is stored in the app's private storage area on your device.
• You can delete individual recordings, clear session history, or delete all recordings in Settings.
• Uninstalling the app removes app data from your device, subject to your Android backup settings.
• Android backup: The app allows Android backup and device-to-device transfer. If backup is enabled on your device, your app settings, database, and recordings may be included in backups managed by Google or your device manufacturer. We do not control those backup services.

7. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing. Information stays on your device unless:

• You choose to share a recording manually using another app or feature on your device
• You use Android backup or device transfer as described above
• Disclosure is required by applicable law

The app uses standard Android libraries (AndroidX, Room, DataStore, Hilt) that process data locally on your device. These libraries do not send your app content to us.

8. Network Access

ResoKit version 1.0.0 is designed to work offline. The app does not declare the INTERNET permission and does not require network access for core features. This in-app privacy policy is loaded from local app assets and does not open a network connection when viewed inside the app.

9. Children's Privacy

ResoKit is a general-purpose music practice utility and is not directed specifically at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will assist with deletion where applicable.

10. Your Choices and Rights

• Deny or revoke microphone permission in Android Settings (tuner and recorder will not function)
• Delete recordings and session history within the app
• Clear all app data via Android Settings > Apps > ResoKit > Storage
• Uninstall the app to remove local data from your device

Depending on your region, you may have additional privacy rights. Because we do not operate accounts or collect data on our servers, most requests can be fulfilled directly on your device using the options above.

11. Security

We use Android's app sandbox and private storage to keep your recordings and app data accessible only to ResoKit on your device. No security method is perfect; please protect access to your device with a screen lock.

12. International Users

The app processes data locally on your device. We do not transfer your app data to ResoKit-operated servers.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app changes. The "Last updated" date at the top will be revised. Material changes will be reflected in the in-app policy and, where required, through app update notes.
